The Hansens & The Salisburys

Charles Osgood, long-time Chicago Tribune photographer, had the opportunity to retrace his family genealogy and learn precisely where he came from. The History of the Hansens & Salisburys: In Europe and America - 1020-2010 and Beyond is the product of this mission. He was able to trace his family all the way back to 1020. Not many of us can say the same.

Being able to learn this much about your family's origins, let alone another's, is very rare. The plethora of information and photographs collected was unimaginable. I truly enjoyed curating and crafting this book, and witnessing history come to life on the page.

Volume 2, called Dutch Love, is coming soon... Where Chuck retraces his aunt and uncle's trip to Europe pre-WWII.
